The Buy With Confidence scheme was just the right thing for AMCO Building and Property Maintenance, at just the right time.

A few months before we had become a limited company, and I had left my NHS management position to become one of the directors. Before this Tony ran the company successfully for quite a few years, but it had come to the point where we wanted to offer our customers something more.

To us, being a member of the scheme meant that new and existing customers would know that we were committed to providing a quality service, both in our skills for work and the customer service we provide.

My days as a female in a (dare I say it) very male dominant business are varied. One of the reasons I joined the company was to be the main contact for our customers. From the initial quotation stage, to the completion of the job, I am available for the customers to speak to. Our customers often comment that it is nice to deal directly with a female, although new customers are often surprised when it is a female who turns up to quote for their works.

Building and property maintenance work is often very challenging. Sometimes what looks like a straightforward job can present you with many surprises along the way. No house ever has straight walls, and deliveries are never always on time and as for the weather when we are working outside! It would be wrong to suggest that every job is without its problems, but as a team we like to work hard to ensure that customer is happy with what we do.

The best moments have been when customers return to you for more works, and they are confident enough to recommend you to their family and friends. This really is the highest compliment that we can be paid.
